Violet Beauregarde is a character from the Roald Dahl novel, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and its film adaptations. In the 2005 film adaptation directed by Tim Burton, Violet is portrayed by actress AnnaSophia Robb. Her character is known for being a competitive gum chewer and is even described as a gum-chewing addict. In the film, she is depicted as a wealthy, overbearing and spoilt child who is skilled in martial arts and has a fondness for bubble gum. Violet ultimately turns into a giant blueberry after chewing an experimental gum during a tour of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
